Prof Purnendra Jain on Japan’s foreign aid policy and its effects on India

Professor Purnendra Jain*, SIA Advisory Board member and Professor at the University of Adelaide’s Department of Asian Studies, was recently interviewed by JICA Research Institute on Japan’s foreign aid policy and effects on India. Watch below.

In the interview, Purnendra says:

  • India has been an attractive aid destination for Japan in both political and economic sense and received Japan’s first yen loans in 1958
  • India and Japan should cooperate to implement international cooperation in third countries such as Africa and this can be expected to create synergy for more effective and efficient aid
