On Friday 12 of June, SIA CEO Dr. John Bruni and SIA Chair CDRE Patrick J. Tyrrell OBE RN (Ret’d) joined the Henry Jackson Society’s webinar series: Prof. Niall Ferguson: ‘In Conversation – How Coronavirus Will Change the World of International Relations’.

The webinar was a tour de force in typical Ferguson style. A lot of ground was covered from how viruses such as the 1918 Spanish flu and the 1957/58 H2N2 Flu Pandemic compared to COVID19, to democratic backsliding, Black Lives Matter, China’s position in Hong Kong and thoughts on how this may affect Taiwan. Overall, Ferguson dealt with all of these contemporary issues with the depth of analysis we have come to expect from one of the world’s foremost public intellectuals.
