…as Moscow begins to exploit this newfound sense of confidence, profiting from its strong ties with ASEAN and with the promise of a $10 billion increase in trade with Indonesia looming in the distance, there will no doubt come a time when it will have to both reconcile its role as a black sheep in the region and acknowledge the need to supplement its regional economic strategy with soft-power tactics.
